Dr Steve A. Wiggins began blogging this month, on a well-named blog, Sects and Violence in the Ancient World.

Steve has a special interest in Ugaritic literature, and is a member of the Ugaritic Tablets Digital Edition project. His published dissertation, A Reassessment of ‘Asherah’: A Study According to the Textual Sources of the First Two Millennia B.C.E. has recently been published as a second and enlarged edition.

Steve describes himself as “part-time academic; compulsive reader; sometime editor; dangerously curious; and a failed priest.”
