(N. T. Wrong Approved) BiblioBlog Top 50 January 2011 (by Alexa Rank)
Posted by Jeremy on January 31, 2011
Well, I think this song probably encapsulates how most everyone is feeling:
That’s right … “Say it ain’t so” … You no longer get (are privileged/are blessed) to go to freeoldtestamentaudio.com to get your Biblioblog rankings. But, just to make sure that I continue to get traffic for this. I’m going to replace the link for each blog in the Biblioblog top 50 with a link to my website. Oh wait a second … I’m not Joel.
As I said before, it’s been fun hosting this over at my place, but I originally took it on because it looked like this site was closing up shop. Now, that this site is back up and running the rankings are back where they belong. So, without further ado, the top biblioblogger of the month for January was:
*** Twimmy Twest***
Hey, the rankings aren’t on my blog anymore but that’s still your nickname, Twim.
And, it appears that we all need to keep an eye on Near Emmaus … or about 47 eyes since that’s about how many people they’ve got blogging over there now ;-). But, maybe if we all go over there and blog, Twim’s reign of supremacy will end. Then, what would happen? My guess is complete anarchy as Twim unleashes his reign of terror on the world.
At any rate, commence the monthly slew of posts maiming of the blog ranking system and so forth. Just know that now Bishop Wrong may just decide to excommunicate you.
By the way, you may also want to check out the new blogs added to the list this month.

I’m a little confused. Our current Alexa rating is 642,276. What am I missing?
NT Wrong said
Michael – your monthly ranking is 837,374. The ranking 642,276 is your ranking over the last three months. The Biblioblog Top 50 ranks blogs on a monthly basis.

joel it still is. just like the witches in wagner’s opera who share one eye and have to pass it around in order to see, but only one can at a time.

Wouldn’t it be better to not run the stats until midnight on the last day of the month? That way those BBs attempting to manipulate Alexa by aiming for their one month stats to peak right on the close of the month won’t get caught 20 hours short. (Not that anyone I know is likely to be trying to do that).
Joel don’t you run a community blog?

Congrats to Brian and the Near Emmaus crew for coming in at #3. Well, we know the top 2 are going to remain unchanged. ;-)

T.C.,
Thanks! Yes, unchanged, but not unchangeable. :-)
Joel said
Not really, Madeleine. I have a few contributors who, from time to time, sparsely, post.
N. T. Wrong said
I dunno, Madeleine, timeliness is everything in biblioblogdom. And my peeps certainly excel at that. Besides, isn’t it already Feb 2nd in your part of the world?
Jeremy said
Where’s all the crying and whining? When I post these on my site there’s always crying and whining by now.
Madeleine, this is not so much a problem for me. I know when the rankings are going to be posted so I can try to manipulate mine accordingly.
And Brian, I was counting in dog-contributors, which is kind of like dog years.

Yippee, my podcast is back in the list, but how come, at least on a quick read 5 Minute Bible is still the only podcast in the list, surely more people actually visit Goodacre’s really good NT Pod? Perhaps we need a BibliaPod Top Ten to encourage more biblical podcasters ;)

Scott,
I’ll have to look into their new blogging platforms. When they were on beliefnet Alexa wasn’t able to provide a ranking for their blogs alone.
