Top 50 Biblioblogs & Carnival for November 2012
Posted by Steve Caruso on November 30, 2012
I’m getting back on the horse with this…
First, a quick announcement:
New, awesome stuff is coming in the Biblioblogging world.
The Biblioblog Reference Library is going through another revision and I am *finally* (yes I know you’ll believe it when you see it) releasing user accounts to the public. Hopefully, too, this will speed things up dramatically.
The Archives currently hold over 10 GIGABYTES of archived blog data, articles, and comments. In short, Biblioblogging is prolific.
More updates are forthcoming.
Now, on with the stats:

[...] I had been ignoring the Biblioblog Top 50 these past months, since the scripts that allow blogs like mine at Patheos had not been updated since our addresses changed. But Steve Caruso finally found the time to update the script this past month, and now that Exploring Our Matrix is back in the running, I’m honored to say that it is the #1 biblioblog for this past month! Congrats to Jim who is finally getting counted! Steve, any chance of posting the Top 50 for the months of Sept and Oct…it would be nice, for posterity, not to have a gap…

The hit archives currently go back to February 6th as that was the last time they were purged (forcibly, I sadly didn’t have a choice in the matter). So, what I’m going to try and do is dump each month’s hits to structured text or json files and hook them up to a web page that will allow them to be explored. Once that’s done, I’ll be able to fill in the gaps. :-)
Peace,
-Steve

Thanks Steve…you are the man, the tech man that is in this case and I appreciate both your skills and the time you put into this when you are obviously very very busy with your other affairs of life…What I had noticed was simply that after your posting of the August Top 50 there was nothing at the end of Sept or Oct, and now you have picked up with November–so just was thinking of those two missing months–but maybe there are others, I just had not noticed. I figured you just got busy and had not had time yet to run the numbers…

What are the criteria for the top 50 – I had over 7000 hits last month – just wondering how it gets generated. …Haven’t stopped by for a while… but all seems to be going well here.
Steve Caruso said
Yeah, with 7000 hits you should be up there. For some reason your blog is under the “Related” category and has no subcategories. Blasted database updates…
