  1. Thanks again, minions, for all that you do. Please note my blog title has changed to “NT/History Blog”. We don’t want to confuse the oodles and oodles of visitors who come there expecting anything different, do we? ;-)

  2. Update: We were just informed, by his readers, that Roland Boer’s Stalin’s Moustache had transferred to WordPress. So, the rankings have been recalculated for his new WordPress blog.

  3. John,

The last time we checked Debunking Christianity, it had a variety of contributors and only a minor biblical studies component. So your blog was included on the ‘related blogs’ list. However, we see that you are now the main contributor and probably include as much biblical studies material as many of the other biblioblogs on the list. So welcome aboard.

  4. Since this site apparently thrusts Dr. Jim West further into the limelight as a top rated Blog, I want it known that he refuses to approve any of my substantive comments on his site. My comments violate no etiquette and they are not intrusive or excessive. He simply refuses to approve them on his blog, two so far. Maybe he has the top rated Biblioblog in terms of rankings but he censors comments of mine for no reason at all. I suspect that might be true of others as well. I’ll let readers judge for themselves in the future because I’ll just post any comment of mine that he didn’t approve on his site right here. He can do what he wants, it’s just that there might be a price to pay.

A Christian Ph.D. student wrote to me about how I moderate comments at DC:

The fact that none of my posts have ever been prohibited is clear evidence that your detractors are full of crap. While I’m certainly not saying that all, or even any of my posts have refuted your arguments (we all know how difficult it can be to refute a carefully developed argument), nearly all of them have expressed serious disagreements with you and the other members of the DC team. Still, for the most part, I’ve been treated very well here, and have certainly never been censored. Heck, I can take it a big step further: If you’ll allow scholars like John Haught and Craig Blomberg to post articles and comments here at DC, then what in the world makes your detractors think you’re afraid of what they (the detractors) have to say? Ridiculous, eh?

Imagine that!? An atheist like me wants a civil discussion of the ideas that separate us? Yep. An atheist who is not afraid of learning from others? That’s me too. I even link to many Christian sites on my Blog. But I have never censored any comment at DC merely because I disagreed with it, and that is the ONLY reason why my two comments were not approved by Jim West.

  5. John,

I’ll let readers judge for themselves in the future because I’ll just post any comment of mine that he didn’t approve on his site right here. He can do what he wants, it’s just that there might be a price to pay.

Seems a wee bit like a threat. Further, instead of littering up this fine site, why don’t you take your comments to Jim to your own ‘site’.

Oh, and thanks again to fine folks at the Top 50 for this month’s rankings.

  6. I’ll just post any comment of mine that he didn’t approve on his site right here

Please don’t. We would prefer that your comments here have at least some relevance to this site, rather than being copies of a conversation on another blog.
